Goodwood Festival of Speed

Rolling in Dough

‘Dammit Jim, I’m a Pastry Chef, not a Transportation Packaging Expert!’

Our goddaughter has started to dabble in gymnastics. Like everything she enjoys, she turns out to be quite good at it. Some think it has to do with fearlessness and confidence, I just think it’s further proof of her natural perfection.

Auntie P can roll you a Marzipanda or Glitter Dusted Fairies, but the biggest challenge to date has been transporting delicate sugar creations 6,000 miles. Bubble Wrap broke paws and ears. Packing peanuts broke Mickey and Minnie arms. Three kilos of dried cous cous might have worked if Dubai Customs were a little more trusting, but the tiny fairy wings perished. This year armed with a new rock solid sugar putty, a pair of egg crate foam squares, and a dexterous pair of foam carving scissors – we had better luck. Earless sausage dogs were expected, but at least the gymnasts survived.

Happy Birthday Darling!
